Youth Work HYPE (Helping Young People into Employment) addresses the needs of young people aged 16-24 who are not in employment, education or training in Pembrokeshire by building skills, employability and aspiration.
The Progression Project – offers a Level 1 or 2 qualification in youth work to post 16s wishing to develop their employability skills while helping to organise and run activities with young people at the Tanyard, supported by employment champions and peer mentors.
Time for Teens – Adult Volunteering project funded by Volunteering Wales, recruiting, training and supporting adult volunteers from our community to participate in and help to run additional activities.
The Monday Project – A really special project providing a youth drop-in for those with anxiety or autistic spectrum disorders. A quiet evening with all the usual activities. Limited numbers. Parents and carers are encouraged to attend and provide additional support.
Tanyard TLC – Our historic building, built into the town walls of Pembroke, is in need of refurbishment and lots of TLC. We have a very long wish list of improvements we’d like to make to bring our youth centre into the 21st century while retaining its historic character.
Buzz the Boatyard Buzz – We have been raising funds to upgrade our film and music studio equipment to create an up-to-date space for young people and our local community to celebrate the arts. We have been supported by Hanfod Cymru and the Clothworkers Foundation, and now have some great up-to-date equipment.
Spotlight – Now that we have the Boatyard up and running again, we are trying to raise funds for additional weekly sessions so that more young people can participate in our music and film activities.
Talent Train – Funds are always needed to keep our talented staff and volunteers trained and up-to-date with the latest information on youth work.
